What You’ll Learn 

The Strategic Planning Workshop is designed to help you strategically align training to key business goals. In this program, you’ll learn the language of strategic planning, how to conduct analyses to inform your strategic plan and how to develop, implement and maintain your strategic plan for more impactful learning programs.

During this workshop, you will learn how to:

• Establish a common language with which to understand strategic planning as it relates to your learning organization.
• Conduct an environmental and gap analysis.
• Develop a strategic plan, action plan and scorecard.
• Effectively communicate the value and steps of your plan.
• Conduct a planning conversation with your team and key stakeholders, using the provided concepts, tools and frameworks.

Who Should Take This Course

The Strategic Planning Workshop is designed for current, newly promoted or aspiring learning leaders who are seeking to understand the responsibility of strategic alignment and how to create and maintain a strategic plan.

There are no prerequisites to register, making this workshop ideal for anyone seeking to further their L&D career.

This virtual workshop takes place over one four-hour half day.

Before the program, you will receive a student workbook that you will use during the course. You will also receive access to a toolkit of job aids designed to help you apply course concepts on the job.

I enjoyed the topic and...

I enjoyed the topic and the facilitator's expertise, however, I feel that 4 hours was not enough for a practical experience and to thoroughly teach and reinforce critical concepts in the program. Great overview, but the promise of practical application was a bit oversold.

I thought I knew Everything there way to know about Strategic Planning...

I really enjoyed this workshop. I have facilitated strategic planning sessions many times before, and sometimes the "plan" is never finished or implemented. In fact, sometimes we don't know what to do with the information we gleaned as a result of the session. Most often, we've chosen one item to take action on. However, this workshop gave us the tools we need to move from the planning stage to the implementation stage. The tools included help to create action steps easily and achieve real results. Additionally, I gained new perspectives on aspects of the strategic planning process that I had not encountered prior to the workshop.

Great for a team

I took this course with members of a training development team I work with. The instructor put us in a different breakout room to be together. It really helped us put down a lot of thoughts that were in our heads down on paper and work through them.

Great!

Over all I thought the class was very beneficial. I have already been applying it at my job with very positive results. The class delivery was very well done, the trainer kept it moving but went over everything sufficiently. The work book was also key as I have referenced it several times since completing the class.
