The Internal Consulting Workshop is based on Training Industry’s research-based model to create a mission and guide for your training organization. In this workshop, you will learn the key skills and processes needed to partner with stakeholders for informed training that drives results.

During this workshop, you will learn how to:

• Define each step of the consulting process.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to:
• Identify relevant issues.
• Define clear roles.
• Communicate solutions and potential obstacles.
• Negotiate solutions and success measures.
• Provide and receive feedback in ways that enhance the relationship.

Who Should Take This Course

The Internal Consulting Workshop is designed for learning leaders seeking to understand and improve the skills that are required to partner with business leaders, work across organizational functions and achieve buy-in for training.

There are no prerequisites to register, making this workshop ideal for anyone seeking to further their L&D career.

What to Expect 

This live, virtual workshop takes place over one four-hour half day.

Before the program, you will receive a student workbook that you will use during the course. You will also receive access to a toolkit of job aids designed to help you apply course concepts on the job.

I appreciated the pre-work involved...

I appreciated the pre-work involved with this workshop to give us an overview of the consulting process and reflect on how we could apply it in our roles. Additionally, the workshop provided a deeper dive into this process, focusing a lot more attention on the phases that are more challenging because of our partners pushing back on our ideas and observances. It was great to hear from other L&D professionals about what has worked in these phases and to discuss how we might approach these phases ourselves. Overall I recommend this program for anyone who wants to develop better business partnerships across their organization or in an external consulting role.

ICW - Precise and concise way to become a better learning leader

This workshop provided me with an integral view of the stages and tools required to navigate the roll-out process of any piece of training, from the request, through the implementation until assessing its impact and results. Access to functional, turnkey consultation tools

I thought the class was great and Laura Smith Dunaief did a great job covering the content, relating individual responses back to the whole group, and capturing individual needs. The discussions were interesting and the tools that you receive from the class are functional, turnkey tools - meaning that you can grab them and use them right away. This class is probably at a beginner or intermediate level for those who are new or somewhat new to a consultancy role.

Good Class for "Beginners"

The course facilitator was Great! Very personable, knowledgeable, engaging, lots of experience. 5 Stars for him! The content was basic for me, as I've been a consultant for a number of years. Since the title has "Master Class" in it, I expected advanced level content. I was disappointed, as I already do everything discussed in this in the class. While it's a great class, great real life examples and discussion, I feel it's for people new to the role. Unfortunately, I didn't come away with anything new.
