What to Expect
What Does CPTM Registration Include?
Registration for Training Industry, Inc.’s Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM™) program includes:
Step 1: Complete the eLearning Modules
The 10 self-paced modules prepare you for the practicum and exam. Most participants spend approximately two to five hours per module, or 20 to 50 hours in total.
Training Industry recommends selecting a practicum date at least four to six weeks after registration. You will receive access to the modules shortly after registering and may complete them on your own schedule.
Step 2: Attend the CPTM Practicum
The CPTM practicum is an interactive, instructor-led experience focused on applying training management concepts to realistic business situations. Most virtual practicums take place over four six-hour days.
Select your preferred dates using the practicum menu at the top of this page. Most CPTM practicums are offered virtually with some exceptions for in-person sessions. Contact us for more information.
Step 3: Pass the CPTM Exam
After completing the practicum, you will have six months to pass the 100-question online CPTM exam. A score of 70% or higher is required. Registration includes two exam attempts.

How can I pay for CPTM?
You can register online with a credit card by selecting your practicum dates above. Training Industry can also support payment by invoice, check, ACH or bank transfer. Payment may also be divided into two equal transactions.

Frequently Asked Questions for the CPTM Program
How do I register for a CPTM practicum?
Select an available practicum date at the top of this page, choose the number of registrations needed and proceed to checkout. After payment is processed, Training Industry will provide access to the CPTM eLearning modules and additional program instructions.
How much does CPTM cost?
CPTM registration costs $3,695 for most sessions. The price includes 10 eLearning modules, one instructor-led practicum and two certification exam attempts. Certain in-person sessions or bundled events may have different prices, which will appear in the practicum selection menu.
Which CPTM practicum date should I select?
Training Industry recommends selecting a practicum at least four to six weeks after registration so you have time to complete the 10 eLearning modules. If you have already begun or completed the modules, you may select an earlier available session.
Can my employer pay by invoice?
Yes. Training Industry can provide an invoice and accept payment by check, ACH or bank transfer Contact us before registering to arrange employer payment.
Can GI Bill benefits be used to pay for CPTM?
CPTM may be eligible for reimbursement as a certification exam expense, but Training Industry cannot confirm individual GI Bill eligibility. Contact the VA or your education benefits counselor before registering.
Can I split the CPTM payment?
Yes. Training Industry can divide the registration fee into two equal transactions. Contact us to arrange split payment.
Are there discounts for CPTM?
Training Industry offers discounts for members, teams and eligible government, nonprofit and military participants. Review the Discounts tab or contact Training Industry to confirm eligibility before purchasing.
When will I receive access after registering?
You will receive access to the CPTM eLearning modules shortly after your registration and payment are processed. Begin the modules promptly and complete them before your scheduled practicum.
Can I change my CPTM practicum date?
Yes. You may request a different available practicum. Contact Training Industry at least 30 days before your scheduled session to avoid a rescheduling fee.
Is the CPTM practicum virtual?
Most CPTM practicums are delivered virtually over four instructor-led days. Any in-person session will be clearly identified in the practicum selection menu.
What happens if I do not pass the CPTM exam?
Registration includes two exam attempts. You must earn a score of at least 70% to pass. Additional attempts may be purchased if needed.
Does CPTM expire?
The CPTM credential must be renewed every two years. Renewal requires 24 continuing professional development credit hours and payment of the applicable renewal fee.
